About TBC

Your global improv theatre company

How it All Began

In 2009, three passionate improvisers, Lauren Berning, Fernando Fresquez, and Sacha Timaeus, each arrived in Edinburgh, Scotland, hoping to join a vibrant improv scene. Finding little, they decided to create their own. That's how To Be Continued... was born. The name perfectly captured the essence of improv's "yes, and" principle—always building, always asking "what's next?" This idea of continuous growth and evolution is now simply known as TBC.

They kicked things off by hosting jams and workshops, drawing in both seasoned players and the improv-curious. Their inaugural show, a high-energy, competition-style performance featuring workshop participants, premiered on December 10, 2009, at the Pleasance Cabaret Bar.

TBC Improv UK quickly became a fixture in Edinburgh, but their journey didn't stop there. In 2014, Lauren expanded the brand, founding TBC Improv HK in Hong Kong. Then, in 2023, TBC set down roots in Barcelona, Spain, establishing TBC Improv Spain. Over the years, TBC Improv has performed, taught, and trained across four continents—constantly growing and always evolving. And we are just getting started. To be continued...

Our Mission

Since its foundation, TBC Improv has been guided by three fundamental principles:

1

To perform the improv we
love so much

2

To share our
love of improv

3

To help cultivate a
thriving improv community
